Automatic garage door openers galore.

A thousand and one. Why so many? Without claiming to be the leading, largest, foremost, most expert, or any of that stuff, we do have an opinion about automatic garage doors and openers.

We can't see why there are so many differing models of opener per manufacturer. The UK market now is such that our public asked for, and got, the garage doors they wanted. That demand shook out most of the rubbish doors years ago, and we now have a good range of quality doors available. They function well, mostly.

Similarly, during the last 30 years, when there were only two to choose from, as I recall, we should have settled down to require just a few models of electric garage door openers - or electric doors or automatic garage doors - whatever you want to call 'em.

There's little difference in production costs for many models now on sale, so why bother with seven or more in just one range? It may lead to justifying some higher prices,and profits, and even offering inferior products. But good design and reliability don't have to cost more.
